IECC 09 Standards Go in Effect Soon
While it is estimated that houses built under the new code will be 10 to 15 percent more efficient than homes being currently built, builders are expected to have some challenges in complying with the mandatory house infiltrations and ductwork leakage limits if they continue to approach these areas in the same way.
SENCON has been working with builders and construction professionals over the past several years to help them understand and meet energy efficiency requirements in their projects and was among the first companies in the area to recognize the coming changes as a result of IECC 09. Since February, we have been working with a number of developers in a series of workshops at our training facility in Virginia Beach, VA, as well as other locations to help them understand what the changes mean and how they can prepare for and ensure that their projects will comply with the new standards.
Upcoming workshops at our training facility at
Aug. 31 3:30 pm
Sept. 23 3:30 pm
Oct. 19 3:30 pm
Nov. 4 3:30 pm
Nov. 23 3:30 pm
Dec. 21 3:30 pm
In addition, check our IECC 09 web page frequently for upcoming dates we are hoping to have scheduled for online webinars. We have already held one online seminar for those people unable to attend our facility physically and are working on a curriculum to improve that initial effort and make it even more beneficial for participants.
