SENCON's New Site Takes Off

It may be the middle of winter, but look around and "green" is everywhere. No, it isn't quite springing forth in our trees and lawns just yet. We still have not quite a couple of months before that occurs. But it's in the advertisements we see and read, it's on the book shelves and magazine rack as more publishers attempt to capture the wide spread interest that is out there about how to live a greener, more environmentally friendly lifestyle, it's in our homes as we seek to reduce energy use and recycle waste, it's in our work places and schools, and more and more it's in the cars we drive and the products we buy.

SENCON has been in the sustainable living, or "green" business, for four years now, yet in that short time, has established itself as one of the leaders of the green movement in Hampton Roads. From assisting homeowners determine energy wasting problems with total home energy assessments to helping them fix those problems through our total home performance packages, SENCON has helped countless area residents achieve green in their homes. We also work closely with developers, construction specialists and property managers to design, build, in some cases modify or update, and to operate greener properties that enhance the people's lives that live and work in those homes and buildings.

When our founder began SENCON, he started it with the intent to build a business dedicated to fostering a broader understanding of green building and living principles, and to that end, the company remains successful. The creation of this Web site is the next step in the fulfillment of that goal.

Besides offering information on our commercial and residential services, as well as dates and descriptions of the many courses we teach for both professional and lay audiences, we hope to begin offering more tips and information for those people interested in simply learning how to live more Earth-friendly lives. We will also keep you informed of the many green events--from social events for sustainalbe industry professionals to educational events, home shows and job fairs--going on Hampton Roads. It's a good bet you'll get the chance to meet somebody from SENCON at nearly every one.
