Reinvention of the Lightbulb
Jeff Gelles with the Phildelphia Inquirer reports on philly.com that a lot of confusion remains over just what the phase-out of incandescent bulbs means for consumers.
In fact, rather than disappearing, they are being improved in order to deliver energy savings on par with or surpassing modern compact fluorescent bulbs and even LEDs. Development is being undertaken at General Electric, Philips and Osram Sylvania with much of the technology being devised and assembled right here in the United States.
