Pollution Prevention & Waste Minimization

Pollution Prevention (P2) is the name of a comprehensive environmental program.  The goal of the program is to reduce, through source reduction, electronic inventory control (SENCON) developed an multi-control electronic Inventory system) the amount of hazardous chemicals entering any waste stream; to recycle any waste generated to the maximum extent practicable; and to assure that any wastes remaining are treated or disposed of in a manner protective of public health and the environment.  SENCON  is providing P2 support to many installations.  Our procedures reduce pollution at its source and reduce or eliminate the creation of pollutants through increased efficiency in the use of raw materials, energy, water, or other resources.  The examples of our P2 efforts include improved hazardous materials management, product substitution, product reformulation, waste stream redesign or modification, improved operation and maintenance, and integrated recycling.  SENCON has written client specific Hazardous Waste Management Plans and Spill Prevention Clean-up and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plans.
